Ingredients
- 200 g beef mince
- 100 g lamb mince
- 1 Stück garlic clove
- 1 Stück onion
- 0.5 TL baking soda
- 1 TL sweet paprika powder
- 0.5 TL ground cumin
- 0.5 TL salt
- black pepper, freshly ground
- 1 EL cooking oil
- 150 g long-grain rice
- 1 Stück red bell pepper
- 2 Stück tomatoes
- 1 Stück onion (for the rice)
- 300 ml water
- 1 EL tomato paste
- 0.5 TL sweet paprika powder (for the rice)
- Bund parsley, freshly chopped (for sprinkling)
Method
- Put the mince in a bowl and press the garlic clove into it so everything becomes nicely seasoned.
- Finely grate the onion, gently squeeze out the liquid and add it to the meat, my dear.
- Sprinkle over the baking soda, paprika powder, cumin and salt and knead everything vigorously for about two minutes until the mixture is smooth.
- Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so the flavors can blend nicely.
- Shape the mixture into about 8 to 10 small, elongated rolls, preferably with wet hands.
- Dice the remaining onion and cut the bell pepper into small cubes.
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pan and fry the onion cubes until glassy.
- Add the pepper cubes and sauté them briefly until they are slightly soft.
- Briefly fry the tomato paste, then stir in the paprika powder and add the diced tomatoes.
- Add the rice, pour in the water and let everything simmer covered over low heat for about 20 minutes until the rice is tender.
- Meanwhile, fry the Cevapcici in a second pan with a little oil until golden brown all over, about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Arrange the Djuvec rice and the Cevapcici warm on plates and sprinkle everything with a little parsley. Enjoy your meal, my dear!
