Ingredients

  • 500 g ground mixed meat
  • 1 Stück stale bread roll
  • 1 Stück egg
  • 1 Stück onion
  • 1 Stück garlic clove
  • 1 TL mustard
  • 1 TL sweet paprika powder
  • 1 Prise chili flakes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 EL cooking oil
  • 700 g floury potatoes
  • 150 ml milk
  • 30 g butter
  • 1 Prise nutmeg
  • 300 g frozen peas

Method

  1. Cut the bread roll into small pieces and soak them in some warm water. Finely dice the onion and garlic.
  2. Place the squeezed-out bread roll in a bowl with the ground meat, egg, onion, garlic, mustard, paprika powder, chili flakes, salt and pepper, and knead well.
  3. Shape the mixture into eight equally sized, flat patties.
  4. Peel the potatoes, cut them into rough chunks and boil them in salted water for about 20 minutes until soft.
  5. Fry the patties in oil over medium heat in a pan for about 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Bring the peas to a boil briefly in a little water and cook for about 4 minutes, then drain and salt them.
  7. Drain the potatoes, let them steam dry, and mash them with milk, butter, salt and nutmeg into a creamy purée.
  8. Serve the patties with the mashed potatoes and peas immediately.
