Sesame Tuna with Lime, Cucumber and Avocado Salad

Ingredients

  • 300 g tuna steak
  • 2 EL sesame seeds
  • 1 EL cooking oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 150 g cucumber
  • 1 Stück avocado
  • 6 Stück radish
  • 1 Stück lime
  • 1 TL honey
  • 1 TL ginger, freshly grated

Method

  1. Halve the lime and squeeze the juice of one half. Cut the cucumber into thin slices, thinly slice the radishes on a mandoline and dice the avocado.
  2. For the dressing, mix the lime juice with honey, grated ginger and a pinch of salt. Gently fold in the cucumber, radishes and avocado and set aside.
  3. Pat the tuna steaks dry, season both sides with salt and pepper. Spread the sesame seeds on a plate and press the steaks into them on all sides.
  4. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium to high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for 1 to 2 minutes per side, so they are crispy on the outside and still pink on the inside.
  5. Let the tuna steaks rest briefly, then slice them diagonally. Plate with the cucumber and avocado salad and serve with the remaining lime half.
