Ingredients
- 200 g Sugar
- 50 ml Water
- 1 TL Cooking oil
Method
- Lightly brush a baking sheet or marble slab with the cooking oil and set it aside.
- Dissolve the sugar and water in a small, tall saucepan over medium heat, stirring, until no crystals are visible anymore.
- Once it boils, stop stirring. Swirl the pan if the sugar browns unevenly, and let the mixture simmer for about 8 to 10 minutes until it is golden brown.
- Remove the pan from the heat immediately and pour the caramel mixture evenly onto the oiled sheet.
- Let it cool completely for about 10 to 15 minutes until the brittle is hard and brittle.
- Break into pieces with a knife or your hands and store dry in an airtight tin.
