Ingredients

  • 500 ml Water
  • 4 Stück Black tea bags
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 3 EL Lemon juice

Method

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a pot, remove it from the heat, and let the black tea bags steep in it for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bags and squeeze them well, then pour the liquid through a fine sieve.
  3. Return the tea liquid to the pot, stir in the sugar, and bring to a boil while stirring.
  4. Add the lemon juice and let the mixture reduce to a syrupy consistency over medium heat for about 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Do the gel test: place a tablespoon of the mixture on a cold plate, let it cool briefly, and push it with your finger; if a skin forms and wrinkles, the jam is ready.
  6. Fill the hot jam into clean, hot-rinsed jars, seal immediately, and let cool completely.
